Our organic and raw Pine honey comes from the mountains of Peloponnese, in Southern Greece and it's the result of the meticulous work, nurturing the bee population, and respecting their natural environment and balance to our eco-system.
Approximately 60% of all Greek honey produced to this date is pine. Its burgundy color is proof of its richness in minerals, which includes potassium, magnesium, phosphorous & iron. It does not crystallize easily and has the highest percentage of antioxidants of all Greek honey.
In ancient Greek mythology, honey was collected near the cave Ideon Andron in Crete, which nursed Zeus as an infant, where honey and nectar were given to Apollo’s son to help him become immortal. Honey is the first traditional sweetener used by Greeks since antiquity. In fact, honey along with olives and grapes formed the beginnings of Greek gastronomy.
